Throughout the week, our team here at ACC looks through emails and news articles searching for someone we think deserves to be our Kidde Hero of the Week!

With the holidays upon us we thought this would be a perfect story to share:

Oklahoma City resident Disty Simpson, along with several of his friends, got together to start a non-profit organization called “Fill My Basket.” Their goal? Simply to pay it forward by helping complete strangers with their grocery bill.

The guys filmed a documentary on how they go into a grocery stores, walk up to the checkout counter and randomly pay someone’s bill. That video has gone viral with over nine million views, and they are hoping to spread this message of giving back and it’s already happening! They’ve heard from people as far away as the Philippines. Just another reminder that IT IS better to give than to receive!

Disty Simpson and his gang at “Fill My Basket” are our Kidde Heroes of the Week!
