Our producer Lonnie found this week’s Hero on Facebook:

Bikers Against Child Abuse, or BACA, is making the world safer for kids who are sexually, physically or mentally abused. And, they have chapters all over the U.S. and in several foreign countries including Australia and the United Kingdom.

Members check in on the kids, and they also go with the children to court to support them. One child testifying in court who had been bullied said that he wasn’t afraid to confront his abuser. He told the judge that he wasn’t scared because “My friends are scarier than he is.”

The bikers are all volunteers and trained by a licensed mental-health professional affiliated with the chapter.

With the motto “No child deserves to live in fear” emblazoned right there on their vests, these bikers are making a real difference in abused kids’ lives!

For more on this organization, visit the official BACA website here or check out their Facebook page.
