The Back Forty: Tracy Lawrence

You never know who’ll walk into our studios – welcome to The Back Forty. This is where we highlight artists who walk the line outside of today’s country chart with their music, as well as the folks who have made an impact on country music – yesterday and today.

From 1991’s “Sticks and Stones” to 2006’s “Find Out Who Your Friends Are,” Tracy Lawrence has been blessed with a lot of great songs that had a huge impact on today’s class of country hit-makers. You’ll find most of those tunes on Tracy’s latest project Good Ole Days, available now. The album finds Tracy teaming up with the likes of Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and more to pay homage to Tracy’s impressive list of hit songs.

In this visit with Kix, Tracy takes us inside the creation of Good Ole Days and how the work re-inspired him as an artist. Also, Tracy reflects on his work with the Nashville Rescue Mission through his Mission Possible event. Plus, Tracy and Kix laugh about some of the fashion choices they made in the ’90s.

Watch it all go down in The Back Forty:

Tracy Lawrence’s Good Ole Days is in stores now. And, Tracy’s Mission Possible is now in its 12th year of providing meals to Nashville’s homeless. That event earned Tracy the title of ACC’s Kidde Hero of the Week. Learn more here.
