Thomas Rhett reached number one in 2016 with his song “T-Shirt.” Now, he first heard the tune when he was recording his debut album, It Goes Like This, but Tim McGraw had heard this song first, so he was holding it and it wasn’t available to record. As luck would have it, Tim decided not to put it on his record, so Thomas grabbed it for his next album.
It was co-written by Shane McAnally, Luke Laird, and Ashley Gorley – three of Nashville’s hottest and best songwriters. And, Thomas said that the song really captured his relationship with his wife Lauren and he knew it was a hit when he heard it!
It became the third single off his Tangled Up album and his sixth consecutive number one.
