In January of 2016, Brothers Osborne had their first big hit with “Stay a Little Longer.” It was from their debut album, Pawn Shop.
The brothers – John and TJ Osborne – co-wrote this song, along with Shane McAnally. And, TJ said that they all wanted to write something that wasn’t a typical break-up song or a love song. They wanted to cover the part of a relationship where you find yourself putting off making it official, but you still keep picking up the phone and calling that person.
They actually recorded the song twice. The first time was for their EP. They recorded it a second time before they released it as a single because they felt they had grown as a band and they wanted the sound to reflect that.
