Dieter Gillanders out of Canada wrote in to nominate the volunteer firefighters in the town of Kyle, Saskatchewan. He writes:

Dear Kix,

Our local hotel went up in flames in 70-80 km winds, and the volunteer firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading to other structures and saved a lot of the town from going up.

They also had the volunteer firefighters from nearby communities of Elrose and Beechy show up to help contain the fire as well.

Kyle is a small town of about four hundred people, and the hotel was also a restaurant and a lounge that was a huge part of the community.

Signed,
Dieter

Kix’s Response:

Dieter, thank you for writing in. I hope that everyone involved is okay. And, for the men and women that volunteer their time and put themselves in harm’s way, we salute you this week!

The volunteer firefighters up there in Kyle… it sounds like you did a heck of job getting that fire out! You are our Kidde Heroes of the Week!
