The Song Remembers When: Chris Young – “I’m Comin’ Over”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In the spring of 2015, Chris Young would release the title cut of his fifth studio album, I’m Comin’ Over.  And, it marked the first time that Chris stepped into the role of producer.

Well, the song was co-written by Chris, his co-producer Corey Crowder, and writer Josh Hoge. Chris said that the three of them wrote the majority of the album together, and he can’t actual recall how this particular song came about because they were writing one after the other that day.

Chris said that even though some people consider this a breakup song, it’s really not. They wrote it about two people just wanting to be together and then they’ll deal with consequences later.

It became the fastest-selling single of his career, and it received an ACM nomination for Single of the Year.

This is Chris’ sixth career number one…  From 2015, this weeks’ The Song Remembers When – Chris Young and “I’m Comin’ Over.”
