The Song Remembers When: Lee Brice’s “Hard To Love”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In 2012, Lee Brice scored his second Billboard Country Airplay chart-topper with “Hard To Love,” the title cut of his second album. The song was written by Billy Montana, Ben Glover, and John Ozier.

Ben said that they wrote it in about two and half hours. He said that it was a song for dudes just saying, “You know what? I know I’m a pain in the butt.” Ben said that he and Billy have been married for years and both admitted that sometimes they’re just not great at being husbands, so they wrote it about themselves.

Lee said that he found the song as he was nearing the end of recording his album, and he knew it was a hit and that it would make a great album title.

It became his second number one and a platinum selling single… This week’s The Song Remembers When – “Hard To Love” by Lee Brice.
