In April of last year, Lauren Alaina landed her first number one, “Road Less Traveled.” Now, it had been six years since she had released new music, and this was the comeback story of the year.
Lauren co-wrote that song with Meghan Trainor and Jesse Frasure. They wanted to tackle the serious and personal issues that Lauren had been very vocal about, which included an eating disorder.
Lauren said that she wanted to tell her story in an empowering way. Well, Jesse approached it from the musical side, creating the track. He said that Lauren made it easy because she is such an incredible vocalist. He added that watching Meghan and Lauren turn into these independent women that were figuring things out back then has been great.
The song ended up being the title of Lauren’s album, and it’s this week’s The Song Remembers When – Lauren Alaina and “Road Less Traveled.”
