The Song Remembers When: Luke Combs – “Hurricane”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Luke Combs debuted last year with his song “Hurricane.” He co-wrote it with Thomas Archer and Taylor Phillips.

Now, Luke had been holding on to the title “Hurricane” for a while, so during the writing session, one of the guys was talking about going through a break up. And, he said that he didn’t go out much because he was afraid he’d run into his ex. Well, Luke came up with the idea of matching up that story with his song title.

They recorded the song for Luke’s third EP. Well, Luke just put it out on iTunes by himself, and the song sold 14 thousand copies the first week! And, that got the attention of Columbia Records who then signed him!

In May of 2017, it made it’s way to the top of the Countdown and stayed there for two weeks.

Here’s Luke Combs with this week’s The Song Remembers When – “Hurricane.”
