In 2015, Sam Hunt landed his second number one with “Take Your Time.” He co-wrote the song with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.
Josh recalls Sam had started this half-singing, half-spoken lyric thing. And, Josh mentioned the idea of “taking a woman’s time.” And, Sam felt that they should pair up the verse, and the talking and the singing, with Josh’s idea. And, well, the song was born.
Sam’s style is pretty unique in country, and he definitely made his mark with this one.
