This week, we share a story from a father who went the extra mile or miles, as the case were, to be with his daughter who had to work during Christmas.

Hal Vaughan knew that his daughter Pierce had to work on Christmas Eve as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Well, he was determined that his daughter have family with her during the holiday, so he booked not one, but six flights, as he crisscrossed the country with his daughter as she worked. This was especially challenging as Hal was recovering from a neck injury, so getting around wasn’t easy.

On one particular flight, Hal was able to get a first class seat. He sat next to a man named Mike Levy, who was flying home for Christmas. Mike shared Hal’s story on Facebook and that post went viral. Everyone commented about how what a great dad Hal was to go the distance, so to speak, to be with his daughter at Christmas.

Check out more in the story as it appeared on CNN here.

Kix’s Response:

Man, isn’t that good?! I think Pierce knows how lucky she is to have a father like that. There is nothing we dads wouldn’t do for our little girls!

I assume that Hal and his daughter were able to spend Christmas day at home with the rest of the family, and, hopefully, they racked up some miles to take the family on a getaway sometime soon! What a great story!

Hal Vaughn, we’d like to recognize you as this week’s Kidde Hero!
