This week’s story is one that has gone viral…

There is a bus driver named Irena Ivic, out of Milwaukee, who saved a baby while she was on duty driving for the Milwaukee Transit System. Irena was on her route when she spotted a baby in just a onesie and no shoes, walking down a side street.

The bus’s security camera caught her reaction, which was clearly shock and panic. Not only was the traffic of cars an issue, but the temperature outside that day in December was below freezing and she knew she had to act quickly.

She turned that bus around and ran off to grab the child. The security camera shows Irena holding that baby and shaking with fright just at the thought that the little boy could’ve been killed. A passenger ran to the front of the bus to warm the baby with a coat. Irena called the police, and she and the passengers waited until they arrived.

Apparently, the toddler had walked out of his mother’s house and she just didn’t notice.

Kix’s Response:

There are too many stories right now of little babies – toddlers just walking outside their homes in this freezing cold weather. Parents, come on! You know that three-year-olds will not miss a chance to get into something or out of somewhere – keep an eye on ‘em!!!

Thankfully, this story had a happy ending. Thanks to Irena Ivic who is this week’s Kidde Hero.
