The Song Remembers When: Blake Shelton – “Every Time I Hear That Song”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In July of 2017, Blake Shelton would hit the top of the chart with “Every Time I Hear That Song.” It was written by husband and wife team Amiee Mayo and Chris Lindsey, along with The Warren BrothersBrad and Brett.

Aimee said that writing with the Warrens is like a party. Every time she and Chris would write with the brothers, they would get one out of every three songs they wrote recorded. So, their track record was pretty good. Aimee remembers having this title about how certain songs can grab you by the heart and bring you back to a special memory.

When Blake Shelton got the song, he said that it reminded him of something Adam Levine, his fellow coach on The Voice, would’ve recorded.  Blake joked that he hated to mention that because he didn’t want Adam to feel like he had an influence on him.

The song went on to become Blake’s 24th career number one. Here’s The Song Remembers When – “Every Time I Hear That Song:”
