The Song Remembers When: Kane Brown – “Heaven”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In 2018, Kane Brown went to the top of the countdown for the second time with the fourth single off his debut album. “Heaven” wasn’t written by Kane, but he said that he felt like it was kind of the love story for his wife Katelyn Jae.

Kane was on a writer’s retreat where he was working on songs for his album. He was writing the song “What’s Mine Is Yours” when he heard the writers in the room below him writing “Heaven.” Kane quickly ran downstairs to where songwriters Shy Carter, Matt McGinn, and Lindsay Rimes were writing. When Shy saw Kane, he said, “I think you should hear this,” and he proceeded to sing the song. Kane instantly knew he loved it, and he wanted to record it.

The song was released in November of 2017, and by May of the next year, the song would not only reach number one but it would stay there for two weeks!

It’s this week’s The Song Remembers When – Kane Brown and “Heaven.”
