The Back Forty: Kristin Chenoweth

You never know who’ll walk into our studios – welcome to The Back Forty. This is where we highlight artists who walk the line outside of today’s country chart with their music, as well as the folks who have made an impact on country music – yesterday and today.

Broadway fans need no introduction to our most recent guest on ACC’s The Back Forty series. Kristin Chenoweth has been stealing their hearts for over 20 years, with parts like her Tony Award winning role as Sally in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown to her immensely popular turn as Glinda in Wicked. Not only has Kristin made an impact in theater, she also has a long list of television and movie credits to her name.

And, like any good Midwestern girl, Kristin hasn’t forgotten where she came from. The proof is in her new album For The Girls where the Oklahoma native honors vocalists who have influenced her. It includes Kristin’s renditions of such classics like Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were,” Judy Garland’s “The Man That Got Away,” and Carole King’s “Will You Love Me Tomorrow.” Plus, a few of her buddies join her along the way including Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
