This week’s story is from our very special guest and groom-to-be Lee Brice who shares the story of meeting his fiancee Sarah…
“It all started one night on a rainy beach. It was a cool and mystic night on a rainy beach which it was. Us boys about 20 years old out looking – thinking we might see some random ladies. It was raining what were we thinking? There was nobody on the beach. This one person comes walking by. This little girl with a wet shirt on and I said boys I think..I said if she turns around here I’m going to talk to her. Sure enough we walked down the beach and I look over and she looked back. I’m gone. See ya. I took off.
Long story short. We talked a long time that night and we met on this beach in Myrtle Beach where I’m from. When she pulled her hair back and I saw how beautiful she was, I was like ‘Oh, okay, I need reinforcement. Can you sit here about 10 minutes?' My guitar was about a mile down the beach in my car. I hauled butt down there. Got my guitar and hauled butt back. I was like I need more ammo for this.
We were friends for 10 years after that. I never really saw her again until I went on my first radio tour which was 10 years later. So, we were friends for a long time. And then a couple of years ago I was out on the road and went and saw her. We had been friends for so long that’s what was so cool about this. She’s my best friend. Now we get to get married and now spend all my time with her."
