Hi Kix,
Living in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, we are fortunate to not only be surrounded by some beautiful country (and home to some great wineries), but we also have access to some wonderful country music festivals in the summer.
I was wondering… Do you have a favorite festival that you enjoy performing at or attending?

What a great question, Chelle, and I think I can speak for most touring musicians out there when I say there’s really nothing quite like festival season. It’s summer camp for musicians and a great chance to see different acts and hang with our buddies who are doing their own tours. And, there are so many great festivals that have been going on for years and a lot of new ones that are giving more and more fans a great party in the summertime!
If I had to pick just one, it would be the CMA Music Festival here in Nashville. I think it’s a great fan experience. There’s not another festival that has as many headlining artists, and I love the fact that all the artists play for free as a tribute to the fans. Money raised by attendance goes to helping kids get musical instruments that they didn’t have access to before. The festival has donated over six million dollars to that cause, and it’s all because of the great country music fans that come to Nashville to celebrate with us every year! It makes me proud!
