This week, we take a look at Randy Houser’s “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight:”
Hit songwriters Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson, and Kelley Lovelace wrote “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight.” Kelley had an idea about “wastin’ moonlight,” so the guys played with lyrics about being with a lady and not wanting the night to end. And then, they hit on the phrase “runnin’ out of moonlight” – now that was a better fit! Soon, the song came together.
In March of 2013, it was released as the second single from Randy Houser’s How Country Feels album, and it would go on to become his second #1.
