The Song Remembers When: “Beat of the Music” – Brett Eldredge

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

This week, we take a look at Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music:”

“Beat of the Music” was inspired by a time when Brett was in the Bahamas with his brother. Now, they had borrowed a boat to go island hopping, and they saw a beautiful girl in a raft. They thought she was alone, so they eased over to say hello and then all of the sudden two dudes popped up out of nowhere, and said “Hey, what are y’all doin’?!”  So, Brett and his brother, of course, hauled it outta there!  But, that girl left an impression on Brett, so he teamed up with songwriters Ross Copperman and Heather Morgan to write a song based on that experience.

Brett released the tune in the fall of 2014 off his Bring You Back album, and it eventually became his second #1 and the Song of the Year at the inaugural ACC Awards!

So, this week, we remember “Beat of the Music” from Brett Eldredge:
