The inspiration for this song came from Granger Smith’s life out on the road. He’d been touring like crazy, traveled all the backroads from coast-to-coast, and came up with a melody and a few lyrics about the countryside. So, he put it all down in his hand-held recorder, and then sent it to his producer Frank Rogers. Frank loved the ideas and thought one of them was actually a great hook!
So, they took that hook and soon created what became Granger’s lead single for his debut album Remington, and his very first #1!
