The songwriting trio known as the Love Junkies – that’s Liz Rose, Lori McKenna, and Hillary Lindsey – wrote this week’s hit. And, Lori tried out this title on the other girls. And, Liz hated it, told her to shut it down! But, Hillary was confident and shared an idea for the first verse. That’s when Liz changed her mind. All of a sudden, she loved the idea. They wrote the entire song in a few hours and later on that day, they played it for Kimberly and Karen of Little Big Town. And, those girls fell in love with it.
In spite of the song’s controversy, it would become the group’s second #1. It would go on to win CMA Single and Song of the Year in 2015 and the Grammy for Best Country Song in 2016!
