Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

This week’s Hero is 15-year-old Christian Lunsford.

An elderly woman had her purse stolen which had 700 dollars in it. Now, Christian saw the story on the news and recognized the face of the mugger – it was his biological father.

He said that he thought back to when his dad gave him 250 bucks for a band trip, and he realized it was the same time this mugging had taken place. Well, Christian knew the money had to have come from this woman.

Christian’s father was in and out of jail for most of his life, and Christian was raised by his mom and stepfather who taught him to be a good person. So, he tracked down the woman. He gave her the money that he had. She, in turn, heard his story about his father and about the money going to his band trip.

So, she told him to keep it and to go on that trip. She wanted him to “keep doing great things.” Christian said that you’re not who your parents are; you can follow your own path.

Kix’s Response:

Wow! Isn’t that a great story?! I mean, all the way around.

How many 15-year-olds would have the courage to face someone who was victimized by their own family member and be strong enough to apologize for their wrong doings?

It sounds like Christian will go on to do some great things!
