Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

Joe Bailey wrote in to nominate one special Veteran who inspired his children to turn serving our country into a proud family tradition. Joe writes:

I would like to nominate my dad, William Bailey Sr., who served as an engineer in the Vietnam War. It was over in Vietnam when he met my mother and despite not being my biological father, he has always been dad to me.

Without the sacrifices made by my father and other veterans, I would not have been given the opportunities I have been. My siblings and I have all served in the army at some point in our lives, carrying on a long family tradition. Anyone that chooses to serve our country is an American hero in my eyes, especially my dad.

I hope to hear my story one week as I listen to your countdown…

Thanks,
Joe

Kix’s Response:

Well, Joe, there you have it! It sounds like your dad has really been a great role model for you, too – a good man, not only for serving his country, but for being a great father to you and your siblings. Thank you for your story and for your family’s service!
