In the summer of 2014, Jake Owen scored his third number one song with a tune called “Beachin’.” Now, it was the second release from his Days of Gold album, and ironically, it wasn’t originally written for Jake. It was written for Kenny Chesney!
Jaren Johnston, who is a great writer and has the band The Cadillac Three, co-wrote the song with Jon Nite and Jimmy Robbins. And, by the time they finished the song, Kenny had already finished recording his album, so Jaren made a few changes, and he pitched it to Jake Owen. And, Jake loved it, and he took the song to the top of the chart!
