This week, we salute 15-year-old Anthony Borges, a student at the high school in Florida where a gunman killed 17 people.

Anthony’s classmate Carlos Rodriquez said that when the gun fire broke out about 20 students ran into a classroom to hide. It was Anthony who was the last one in the room. He held the door closed trying to lock it as the gunman fired through the door hitting Anthony five times.

Carlos went on to say that the students didn’t know what to do. Everyone was in a panic, but Anthony took the initiative. He is recovering in a hospital, but he has a long road ahead of him.

15-year-old Anthony Borges – a true hero saving 20 students that day! We wish him a speedy recovery… What a brave young man! And, saying that, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Parkland, Florida.
