In the summer of 2012, Kip Moore reached the top of the countdown for the very first time with his song “Something ‘Bout a Truck.”
He said that the song was inspired by a true story. See, he was dating a girl and he didn’t think she was that into him. At the time, he was driving – as he describes it – a little box car. Well, the car broke down and he had to borrow his father’s truck for his date. When he pulled up in the truck, that same girl seemed like she was totally into him. That night he told his dad, “Must be something ‘bout a truck.”
He shared that story with his co-writer Dan Couch, and Dan said, “We need to write that song!”
