The Song Remembers When: Justin Moore – “Point at You”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Back in 2012, Justin Moore had success with a love song titled “Til My Last Day.”  Because of that successful effort, Justin went on to record another love song “Point at You.”

The song was the lead single from his third album, Off the Beaten Path. And, it was co-written by Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip, and Ross Copperman, who are three of Nashville’s hottest writers.  Ben said that when they all got together to write, Ross had the title and the track, so the lyrics fell into place from there.

They all said that they were pretty wild in their younger days, but if you wanted to see their softer side, you just had to point at the woman in their life. And, for Justin, it was a song that would become a favorite of his wife’s and the reason he ultimately recorded it. “Point at You” would go on peak at number two in October of 2013.

Here’s this week’s The Song Remembers When – Justin Moore and “Point at You.”
