The Song Remembers When: Miranda Lambert – “Fastest Girl in Town”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

In 2011, Miranda Lambert released her fourth album titled Four the Record. It was the album’s third single, “Fastest Girl in Town,” that received comparisons to her songs “Kerosene” and “Gunpowder & Lead.” The song was written by Miranda and Angaleena Presley, who along with Ashley Monroe, are known as the Pistol Annies.

Well, Miranda even called the song “classic Miranda” and said that it sounded like it could’ve been from her debut album Kerosene. Miranda loves to be able to incorporate her sense of humor into her songwriting, and she was proud of the fact that she was able to get the word “hankerin’” into the lyrics.

The video for the song received quite a bit of attention, too. It played more as a mini-movie, and it featured NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

In 2012, “Fastest Girl in Town” made it into the Top 5, and it’s this week’s The Song Remembers When:
