The Song Remembers When: Florida Georgia Line – “Simple”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Last October, Florida Georgia Line scored their 14th number one with “Simple.” The duo co-wrote it with Hardy and Mark Holman.

FGL had just started up their Smooth Tour, and the duo felt like they were going non-stop. It was Tyler Hubbard who said that he had the word “simple” in his mind. He wanted to write something that was a reminder to him and his partner Brian Kelley to slow down and take time every week to re-charge.

Well, Mark Holman had the beat, and they married up Tyler’s idea to the music. Hardy said that they wanted to keep that lyric very… simple – that’s how they got “one, two, three, I met you and you met me.”

Here is Florida Georgia Line with this weeks’ The Song Remembers When – “Simple.”
