Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week…
This week, Valerie Mikulan, out of Pennsylvania, wrote in to nominate her husband Mark, and their children Mark Jr., Victoria, Michael, and Jake – all of whom are volunteer firefighters.
Mark has been with the fire department for 45 years. Mark Jr. has served for 18 years, while Victoria (14 years) and Michael (12 years) have both dedicated over a decade to the department. And, their youngest brother Jake just started last year. They all put in numerous hours of training, as well as fund raise for the fire department.
Valerie writes, “I feel that we are seeing the number of volunteers dwindling when it comes to the fire departments, so I’d like to recognize my family as heroes for their service and their dedication to keeping our community safe.”
