Hero of the Week: Beth Breslow

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

Robyn Singleton emailed us her Hero nomination for her daughter Beth Breslow. She writes:

Hey Kix,

My daughter Beth needs to be recognized as a hero. She does so much on behalf of children who suffer from alopecia. Although she has a full time job, she finds the time to serve on the board of trustees for the Children’s Alopecia Project.

She knows that the kids need help with their self-esteem. She also educates and helps spread awareness of this Auto Immune disease where children suffer hair loss, causing baldness. Beth’s own daughter, at just two-and-a-half years old, suffers from this disease. Although it’s not life threatening, it is so important to help educate people so that these kids aren’t bullied at school or online.

She teaches children, all children, that it’s okay to be different.

Thank you,
Robyn

Kix’s Response:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It’s so important to not overlook issues that children deal with, issues that can cause them to feel different or isolated.  It’s great that Beth is working hard to make sure these children feel accepted. And, I know that will go a long way for all of these kids.

Beth Breslow, you are this week’s Kidde Hero.
