The Song Remembers When: Kane Brown – “Good As You”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Kane Brown paid tribute to the strong women in his life with the song “Good As You.” He dedicated this chart-topping hit to his mom, Tabatha, and his wife, Katelyn.

Kane remembers that the writing session with Shy Carter, Brock Berryhill, Taylor Phillips, and Will Weatherly didn’t start off easy. They all sat around talking and not knowing what to write. But, it was Shy who got things going finally when he broke out a ukulele. Then, Will added some drums into the mix. The guys felt that they had a good groove going. And, when Taylor threw out the line, “girl, I want to be as good as you,” the song came together in less than an hour.

Kane said that this is one of his favorite songs off his Experiment album, and it’s this week’s The Song Remembers When. Here’s Kane with a number one from last year – “Good As You.”
