Hero of the Week: The Murray Family

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, Brandi, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, emailed us with her Hero nomination. She writes:

Dear Kix,

I recently heard about nominating a hero while listening to your show on the radio.

I’m a medic from Tennessee, working COVID deployments across the country. I’m currently deployed here in Texas.  I fly all over the country taking care of our communities while my amazing husband, Scott, is at home caring for our two children.

We have a 16-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter, both with special needs. Scott has a demanding job. He works full-time, remotely from home, but he also homeschools our son and takes our daughter to all her therapies.

If I’m lucky, I’m home 14 days a month. People talk about the sacrifices that we make as first responders, but they fail to recognize our spouses and our children who are truly making the sacrifice.

It would mean the world to me if you can recognize my husband Scott as your Hero of the Week. I want the entire world to know how much I adore him and how he too is saving the world in his own way.

Signed,
Brandi

Kix’s Response:

Well, Brandi, you’ve got it. To all of those who are doing their part in helping during this pandemic, and to the family members who are left to take care of the home, thank you!

I’d like to recognize you both – Scott and Brandi Murray, from East Tennessee. You are this week’s ACC Heroes.
