Hero of the Week: James Anderson

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

This week, we are headed across the pond for a story about a very generous plumber.

James Anderson founded Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response after he was called in for a second opinion about a heating issue at a residence. While there, he was told about a company attempting to con the elderly man that lived there – out of 750 dollars. That’s when James, who is a father of six, became disgusted, and he knew that he had to help people who are preyed upon, no matter what the cost.

Since he started providing plumbing and heating for free for those who can’t afford it, James estimates that he’s spent 77 thousand dollars helping families throughout the area. Now with the pandemic, he has added to the services he provides by donating meals and PPE, even paying bills for those who are financially struggling. When asked why he does it, James said that we have a social responsibility to help each other and that we need to be there for one another.

Suzanne’s Response:

Wow! James Anderson, we need many more like you, especially with all that is going on in the world. With winter freezing temps hitting during this pandemic, you are literally saving lives.  You are this week’s ACC Hero.

Hopefully, this idea will spread throughout our country as well. I know so many are doing what they can right now to help others.
