The Song Remembers When: Kane Brown – “Homesick”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Last March, Kane Brown rose to number one with his song “Homesick.” He co-wrote it with Brock Berryhill, Matt McGinn, and Taylor Phillips. And, its one of the tracks on his sophomore album Experiment.

Keep in mind this was pre-pandemic and Kane was traveling all the time. He was road weary and wanted to be home with his wife Katelyn. His co-writers were on the road with him and witnessed how much the separation from Katelyn was affecting him. They said they couldn’t have written the song had they not been there with him to see how much he was homesick.

Kane knew other people would relate to this story, especially those in our military.  He has paid tribute to our veterans with this song and has even gone on to release a remix featuring actual military members singing with him.

It’s this week’s The Song Remembers When… Here’s Kane Brown with his two-week number one “Homesick.”
