The Song Remembers When: Ingrid Andress – “More Hearts Than Mine”

We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…

Last May, Ingrid Andress peaked inside the Top 5, at number three, with her debut single, “More Hearts Than Mine.” She co-wrote the song with Sam Ellis and Derrick Southerland.

When she first started the song, the person she was dating had not met her parents yet. She was hesitant to bring the song to her writing session because it felt so personal and it made her feel a bit vulnerable. But, she said that the experience was freeing.

The song is true to life for Ingrid. She says that she always builds up her parents and the place she grew up, which is Highlands Ranch, Colorado. So, it seems that having a protective family and knowing that they’re invested in your relationship gave Ingrid her first big hit!

And, it’s this week’s The Song Remembers When… Here’s Ingrid Andress with “More Than Hearts Than Mine.”
