A lot of Thomas Rhett’s songs are about his wife Lauren but that was not the case with his number one hit “Unforgettable.” The song tells the story about two people who had met a little bit later in life than TR and Lauren, who met in grade school.
Thomas wrote “Unforgettable” on his bus with Jesse Frasure, Shane McAnally, and Ashley Gorley. He remembers playing some “Latin beat songs” and asked Ashley if he could play something like that. Then, they started the process of making up a story about this husband telling his wife about remembering every detail of that first time they met.
The song was the second single off Life Changes. After 15 weeks on the chart, it reached the top spot in November 2017.
