Hero of the Week: Kaitlyn O’Hara

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

We received an email from Lisa who nominated her good friend Kaitlyn O’Hara as Hero of the Week. Lisa writes:

Dear Kix,

Kaitlyn lost her life while out on the side of the road, trying to help an injured cat. She was a veterinarian nurse working at the University of Pennsylvania. She traveled with vets to help bring veterinary care and spay and neuter clinics to areas in need.

Despite being allergic to cats, Kaitlyn volunteered at Randall’s Rescue to help cats, including those with special needs, get adopted. She also helped trap feral cats and fostered kittens that needed to be bottle fed.

Her life was cut short last year, and her loss is felt greatly by those who knew her and the animals she’s helped. She was a loyal sister, daughter, and friend, and she was a hero to so many.

Signed,
Lisa

Kix’s Response:

Lisa, we are happy to name Kaitlyn O’ Hara our ACC Hero of the Week. She sounds like she was an amazing person, and we’re very sorry to hear about the loss of this special spirit.
