Song: “Big, Big Plans”
Songwriters: Chris Lane, Jacob Durrett, and Ernest K. Smith
Chris Lane went to number one in December 2020 with his very personal song “Big, Big Plans.” He wrote the song to be used during his wedding proposal to his then-girlfriend Lauren Bushnell. He had it playing when he dropped to a knee in front of their family.
Chris says that there is nothing more rewarding to him as a songwriter than to see how fans have taken to what you have written. Some of them even have used “Big, Big Plans” for their own wedding proposals.
According to Chris, he had “no idea [Big, Big Plans] would end up on the radio.” But, luckily, it did and became his third chart-topping hit and his first one as a songwriter. Plus, Lauren said yes, and the couple now are the proud parents of son Dutton and have a baby boy on the way!
