Chris Stapleton is a multi-nominee at The 56th Annual CMA Awards. Because of his number one hit “You Probably Should Leave,” Chris received nominations in the Single and Song of the Year categories. In fact, at last year’s show, Chris won in both of those categories with “Starting Over.” He also did so in 2018 with “Broken Halos.”
“You Should Probably Leave” was written years ago for one of Chris’s first solo projects, but the song never made the record. It had attracted attention through the years on YouTube after fans posted live versions. So, when it came time to record his latest album Starting Over, Chris’ wife Morgane suggested that he should consider it, saying that people needed to hear it.
Chris released it as a single in May 2021. By February of the following year, Chris added another number one to his artist resume.
