In May 2020, most of us were at home uncertain about life with the pandemic taking hold of the country. It was during that time when Tim McGraw released the song “I Called Mama.” It was a tribute to mothers everywhere. And, for Tim, he felt the timing couldn’t have been better due to the hardships everyone was facing.
Tim said that at a time when we feel lost in our life, we want to reach out to our mothers, our North stars, our home base. The song really inspired people to reach out through Zoom and FaceTime to check on their mothers, but, more than anything, people were able to hear their mother’s voice to let them know things were gonna be okay.
“I Called Mama” was the lead single from Tim’s Here On Earth album, and it peaked at number two in October 2020 after climbing the chart for 24 weeks.
