Nominations Revealed for the 2023 CMT Music Awards

Powerful collaborations and her latest solo hit single delivered Lainey Wilson four nominations at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. “Wait In The Truck” with HARDY earned recognition in both the Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year categories. Last year’s rain-soaked performance of “Never Say Never” from the 2022 CMT Music Awards gave Lainey and Cole Swindell a nod in the CMT Performance of the Year category. And, “Heart Like A Truck” is nominated for Female Video of the Year.

Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Kane Brown all earned three nominations each. All-time leading CMT Music Awards winner Carrie Underwood, who has 25 wins to date, has the opportunity to extend her tally with nominations for Video of the Year (“Hate My Heart”) and Female Video of the Year (“Ghost Story”). Carrie is set to perform in addition to already announced performers Kane and Katelyn Brown. And, new for this year’s show, Breakthrough Video of the Year has been split into Male and Female categories.

Additionally, Shania Twain will be presented with the CMT Equal Play Award. Previous recipients include Jennifer Nettles and Linda Martell.

The 2023 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, will broadcast LIVE from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, at 8/7c Sunday, April 2nd, on CBS. Final voting for Video of the Year is on-going at vote.cmt.com. Full nominations are listed below.
