Performers Announced for the 2023 CMT Music Awards

Performers for the 2023 CMT Music Awards have been announced and the list includes some of the most in-demand artists in the country world and one superstar who made his return to the show after a five-year absence. Leading nominee Lainey Wilson will perform her latest hit “Heart Like a Truck.” Three-time nominee Cody Johnson will deliver a performance of his chart-climbing single “Human.” Jelly Roll will log his first-ever awards show performance, while Tyler Hubbard is set for his first as a solo artist.

Making his return to the show is Blake Shelton who will take the stage for “No Body.” Over the course of his 20-plus-year career, Blake has won a total of eight CMT Music Awards, including Video of the Year in 2018. In addition to already-announced performers Carrie Underwood and Kane Brown with his wife Katelyn, look for performances from Carly Pearce, Keith Urban, and Kelsea Ballerini. Plus, collaborations from Darius Rucker with The Black Crowes, Wynonna with Ashley McBryde, and Gwen Stefani with Carly Pearce will take center stage.

The show continues the tradition of shining the spotlight on new talent out of Music City as Avery Anna, Chapel Hart, Jackson Dean, Lily Rose, Megan Moroney, and Nate Smith set for the Ram Trucks Side Stage. CMT will honor the 10th anniversary of their CMT Next Women of Country program with a special performance from alumni Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Madeline Edwards, and Morgan Wade who will join Alanis Morissette and guitarist Jackie Venson for Alanis’ hit anthem “You Oughta Know.” Plus, an all-star tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd brings country and rock artists together to honor the band’s iconic Southern rock sound.

The 2023 CMT Music Awards, hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, will broadcast LIVE from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, at 8/7c Sunday, April 2nd, on CBS. A full list of nominees can be found here.
