Luke Bryan’s buddy Rodney Clawson had a hand in writing the 2012 number one hit “Drunk On You” alongside Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear. Luke said the second he heard it; he knew it was the perfect summertime song.
“Drunk On You” was the third single from Luke’s Tailgates & Tanlines album. Prior to releasing it, he was on the road performing some of his new songs. And, he loved the reaction fans were giving him when he performed “Drunk On You.”
That fan reaction and summertime feel was a great indicator. In July 2012, “Drunk On You” topped the chart for two weeks.
