In November 2020, Lee Brice released “Memory I Don’t Mess With.” Lee felt that it was a perfect time of year to release it because the song talks about nostalgia.
Lee and a friend had the idea, but they sat on it for about a year. He would revisit it and finally thought of a good melody and brought in another co-writer to assist in finishing it up. Then, Lee recorded it for his Hey World album.
“Memory I Don’t Mess With” spent 52 weeks climbing the chart before reaching number one in October 2021. The song is Lee’s eighth chart-topping hit as an artist and, at the time, it was his fourth consecutive.
