When Tyler Hubbard writes a song, he usually brings it back home to his wife, Hayley, to get her reaction. He says she gives her thoughts… and she can be brutally honest.
Hayley isn’t too over-the-top with her reactions but with his song “5 Foot 9,” she had a strong response. Even though the song was written about her, it was a little off…by an inch to be exact. Haley is 5 foot, 10 inches. Now, Tyler told his co-writers that, but they decided to keep it “5 Foot 9” because it rhymed better.
The song was the first single for Tyler as a solo artist, after closing the chapter, for now, on Florida Georgia Line. In November 2022, it would become his first number one as a solo performer and achieve platinum status! With the success the song had, we’re pretty sure Hayley got over the issue about the height…
