Gabby Barrett realized that she needed a “laid-back country song,” the kind “where you’re riding down the back roads listening to George Strait.” The answer came in the form of her platinum-selling hit “Pick Me Up” which she wrote with Jon Nite and Ross Copperman.
Since the Pennsylvania native is married to Texan Cade Foehner, Gabby wanted to pay tribute to King George. She says that because of her husband, she feels adopted by the state.
Now, the music video is very personal to Gabby and Cade. They both acted in this one, and Gabby said she cried the first time she saw it because it was so special to her.
“Pick Me Up” was released in February 2022, and it would go on to reach the Top 10, peaking at number six, the following January.
