In 2022, Jon Pardi scored his fifth number one with ‘Last Night Lonely.” The song was the lead single from Jon’s album Mr. Saturday Night. Producer Bart Butler found the song and felt it was perfect for Jon.
“Last Night Loney” tells the story of a woman having a drink in a bar with a man she just met. She’s thinking maybe this is the right guy, and this will be her last night lonely.
Jon and his producer held onto the song for two years. Jon knew he wanted to record it – he was just waiting for the right time. When that time came, they, along with co-producer Ryan Gore, sped the song up a bit, gave it some big drums, and Jon’s swagger, and it all worked!
“Last Night Lonely” topped the chart in September 2022.
