In February 2022, Morgan Wallen scored his fifth number one with “Sand In My Boots.” It was the third single from Dangerous: The Double Album.
The song was written by Morgan’s buddy and frequent collaborator HARDY. He had the idea of a summer romance and the title listed on his phone and brought that up to co-writers Ashley Gorley and Josh Osborne. All three knew Morgan would be the perfect match for this one.
When Morgan heard the demo, he was excited. It was a little different for him. But, Morgan felt like the production would give him a great opportunity to slow things down during his live shows and get behind the piano.
“Sand In My Boots” ran up the chart in 34 weeks to capture the top spot.
